The New Evangelization Ministry seeks to renew and strengthen the Christian faith of the faithful and to share the Gospel in meaningful ways within the changing social and cultural context of Great Britain. While evangelization traditionally reaches out to those who do not know Christ, the New Evangelization gives particular attention to those who have become distant from or no longer actively practise their Christian faith.
In the context of the Eparchy of Great Britain of the Syro-Malabar Church, this ministry has a special significance in responding to the challenges of a post-modern and increasingly secularised society. It encourages the faithful to work together with the Bishop and the wider Church in fulfilling the mission of proclaiming Christ and transmitting the Christian faith to present and future generations.
The ministry seeks to communicate the Gospel through renewed methods, creative approaches, prayer, faith formation, personal witness, and meaningful engagement with society. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it strives to give fresh vigour to the Church’s everyday mission of evangelization and to make the message of Christ accessible and relevant to people today.
Through this ministry, the parish aims to build a community that is faithful to its Syro-Malabar heritage, open to the wider society, and committed to sharing the joy of the Gospel with those around us.
